Miniature Relay Shield for Wemos D1 mini - Design A

Inspired by Everlanders Automation projects (video) I have designed this (general) PCB shield/module.

It mounts a max of 8x miniature relays (G6K-2F-Y) so it is easy to add a remote control option to different types of push button control panels (that are otherwise not really designed with wireless remote control in mind), like:

  • any (regular type) push-button panel (as seen in the video about the AC unit).
  • any matrix arranged in a 4×4 or 5×3 or 6×2 button matrix.

Once wires are soldered to the correct places, on the control-panel, (for either type of button arrangement), the miniture relays will simply mimic the push of a button.

It is possible to cut the PCB in different ways, in order to fit the PCB into tight spaces. This might however also limit the max number of relays available, on the remaining PCB.

A PCB specifically designed to fit the tight space of a MaxxFan, is available here:

Depending on what type of miniature relay you have (of can easier get).

Important: The miniature relays for this PCB are the Surface Mount type (G6K-2F-Y) every letter in the name matters, and must be correct.

Project Status: PCB design verify (rev.A1 - 2023 May 16)

  • Top side
  • Bottom side

Use the PCB viewer if you would like to see/test the entire copper path as it switches sides and/or connects to several solder points.
